UMA joins our member ministries, the UMC annual conferences and churches in prayer and discernment as we assess the impact of yesterday’s decision by the 2019 General Conference of the United Methodist Church (https://www.umnews.org/en/news/gc2019-daily-feb-26). The General Conference’s vote for the Traditional Plan over the One Church Plan and others is expected to have far reaching implications for the UMC in the country and across the globe.
The UMA a Way Forward Task Force, created last year, will meet in the coming days to continue to discuss the impact of the decision for our members, the people they serve and our association of health and welfare ministries. If you would like to share your thoughts with the task force, please send them to askuma.org.
UMA will continue its mission to promote, inspire, recognize and empower excellence in human service ministries.
