CYF Summer Workshop Registration Now Open
Each summer, CYF leaders gather for education and renewal. This year, we’ll meet on August 18-19 at the Philadelphia DoubleTree Center City in the heart of the theatre district. Explore the birthplace of liberty and walk in the footsteps of people like Benjamin Franklin. Experience the rich history of the Liberty Bell and other sites, including those famous steps from the movie, Rocky, which happen to be at one of the finest museums in the nation. Join us and experience some of the most exciting dining anywhere while you renew friendships and recharge your leadership batteries.
Referral sources nationwide are expecting your agency to serve more difficult kids who have experienced a vast array of trauma. This year’s Monday session by Dr. Jeffrey Lawrence will explore how The Methodist Home in Macon, GA implemented Trauma Informed Care, along with its philosophy, pitfalls and successes. Learn new techniques to make your agency’s treatment more successful while you share your own successes with colleagues.
Tuesday’s session will take us to Philly’s Methodist Home for Children where Anne Rice Burgess is President/CEO. Originally formed as a single campus ministry to house Civil War orphans, the Home now offers a vast array of comprehensive services through multiple corporations. Agency leaders will describe their programs, as well as how they transitioned to an organization that serves more than 2,600 children and families each year.
