Displaced UMH Employess in Need of Urgent Assistance Following Super Storm Sandy
They evacuated and cared for the 500 United Methodist Homes residents before, during, and after Hurricane Sandy hit the East Coast last month. But while the residents are busy resuming their lives; sadly, many of the UMH employees are still struggling in the aftermath of the storm. Many of the employees and their children lost their homes, all of their belongings, and their sense of security. Their needs are great and immediate!
For the displaced employees, housing is the most pressing need. Even though most will have to continue to pay mortgages and other fixed expenses, they now find themselves without a place to live. UMH wants to assist them with securing and paying for temporary housing for the six months to a year that it will probably take to return to their own homes. They have begun to collect cash donations and gift cards in any amount to help the UMH employees get through this crisis.
If you would like to help, please forward your gift to Sharon Clapp at the UMH Home Office located at 3311 State Route 33 in Neptune, NJ 07753; where we will quickly coordinate distribution to our employees and their families.
We will not let a storm break our spirit, Homes is where the heart is! Please help now.
