Wesley Glen Ministries Seeks New President/CEO

Wesley Glen Ministries of Macon, Georgia, a private, non-profit agency, and ministry of the United Methodist Church serving intellectually and developmentally disabled adults, is seeking its next President/CEO. The successful candidate will be a proven leader who will exercise compassion and decisiveness in addressing the day-to-day operations of the organization and develop and maintain a business model to sustain Wesley Glen for the future.  In a challenging regulatory environment, the President/CEO must have a command of the issues facing organizations like Wesley Glen and advocate with state and federal agencies for funding and policies in the best interests of adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities. With nearly 60% of the annual operating budget generated from federal and state sources, the President/CEO’s oversight of Wesley Glen’s adherence to assessment protocols and all mandated regulations is critical.

Business acumen and an entrepreneurial spirit are a must. Wesley Glen seeks public and private partnerships and other opportunities to expand services, which will foster new income streams in support of its mission. The President/CEO will pursue these new enterprises with vigor, balancing this ambition with the existing and ongoing needs of the staff, residents, families, and day program attendees central to Wesley Glen’s mission. Among his or her tasks will be the preparation of the roughly $4 million annual budget and managing organizational finances.

The successful candidate will have superior volunteer management skills to assist the Board of Trustees with the governance of Wesley Glen and assist the staff with volunteers who support fundraising events and day program needs.

Enthusiasm and professionalism in pursuit of fundraising and relationship development are key to Wesley Glen’s successful future. Existing individual donors, event sponsors, and grant-awarding organizations, which account for about 25% of the annual operating budget, must be stewarded and new ones identified and cultivated by the President/CEO in coordination with the Director of Development.  With ten direct reports and a total staff of 49 professionals and caregivers, the successful candidate must be a compassionate manager, a clear communicator, and an inspiring leader. Wesley Glen residents and day program attendees will thrive under a President/CEO who inspires and fosters a team approach to the care of all individuals.

As the face of the “brand” of Wesley Glen Ministries, the President/CEO must always exhibit a passion for the mission, a strong connection with the Macon community, and adherence to Christian values.
