Since opening our doors in 1908, the Florida United Methodist Children’s Home (FUMCH) has served children and family’s needs by providing a nurturing environment to meet each child’s emotional, physical and spiritual needs.

Within the framework of the purposes, philosophy and mission of the Florida United Methodist Children’s Home, the Vice President of Residential Treatment will be responsible to the President/CEO for developing, planning, coordinating, maintaining and administering residential programs at all service locations throughout Florida. Duties include: the supervision of all Residential Services staff including the Director of Clinical Services, the Campus Life Administrator, Psychiatrist, Health Services Coordinator, Emergency Shelter and Residential Managers.



  • Master’s Degree in Human Services or related field from a nationally accredited college or university
  • LCSW, LMHC or LMFT, preferred
  • Minimum of 5 years in a social services setting with at least 3 years in an administrative or supervisory capacity
  • Experience in a Residential Group Care facility or related, with increasing levels of responsibility including supervision and/or management is highly desirable
  • Experience with financial management and maintaining a department budget
  • Experience with public speaking and communication with diverse groups
  • Experience working with sexually reactive children preferred
  • Experience in administering multi-service, multisite locations in a residential setting preferred



  • Must have a valid Florida Driver’s License
  • Excellent communication skills in both verbal and written for
  • Excellent time management and interpersonal skills
  • Must be detail-oriented and a team-player
  • Sensitivity to the service population’s cultural and socioeconomic characteristics
  • Sensitivity and willingness to embrace the culture and mission of a faith-based organization
  • Ability to read and analyze complex government regulations
  • Ability to write reports, proposals, policy, business correspondence and procedure manuals
  • Ability to organize and make presentations to the community, Board of Trustees and other constituents
  • Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw conclusions, seeking input from appropriate individuals
  •  Ability to interpret an extensive variety of instructions and the ability to deal with problems involving a variety of situations, including staff issues and youth care challenges



  • Responsible for the operations, planning, development and implementation of programs for all FUMCH residential service locations
  • Develops, monitors, updates and ensures fidelity to the residential services Teaching Family Model of care
  • Manages and maintains all departmental budgets within the Residential Care Division
  • Manages expenditures and revenue generating activities related to programs/services to ensure resources are maximized and that all assigned programs are fiscally responsible
  • Supports the negotiation of contracts with CBCs and other community providers and funders
  • Oversees all clinical processes to ensure continual compliance with DCF, COA, EAGLE, TFM, AHCA, and other licensing or accrediting entities
  • Oversees all residential services processes for performance and quality/ improvement so as to ensure that programs meet/exceed industry best practice standards
  • Serves as a member of the Presidents Senior Executive Leadership Team and General Leadership Team
  • Provides leadership to professional staff across the entire organization
  • On call responsibilities
  • Ensures compliance with FUMCH policies, procedures, rules, accreditation, licensing, and contract standards and requirements
