Evenglow Announces CEO Retirement and Successor
Evenglow Senior Living and its Board of Trustees have announce the appointment of Cindy Wegner as chief executive officer. Wegner succeeds Mark Hovren, who has recently retired as CEO after serving in that position for 17 years. Under his leadership, Evenglow recently led a multimillion-dollar, four year expansion of their campus. Evenglow has been continuously EAGLE accredited since 1991.
Cindy Wegner, who assumed the role of CEO on Aug. 16, has more than 27 years of experience in senior living services.
Wegner is described as a “dedicated leader who loves mentoring and coaching her team members, she has a passion for providing Her prior appointments include serving as a licensed nursing home administrator for two other quality organizations offering skilled nursing services.”
“On behalf of the Evenglow Board of Trustees, I am pleased to welcome Cindy Wegner to the family of Evenglow as the new CEO,” Carol Flessner, Evenglow’s Board of Trustees chairperson, said. “Cindy brings with her an extensive career in many aspects of senior living, and Evenglow is fortunate that she will utilize that experience in our area to continue to move Evenglow forward as the premier senior living facility in the area.”
Wegner earned a Bachelor of Science degree with a concentration in Gerontology from Illinois State University. A member of the Illinois Nursing Home Administrator’s Association, she has been nominated as its Administrator of the Year multiple times and is an accomplished public speaker. In her free time, Cindy enjoys reading, painting and spending time with her family.
“I am honored to be selected to lead this outstanding organization into the future,” Cindy said. “At this point in my career, I have found that I like the idea of working in a continuum of care environment which has a strong mission and seeks to create a ‘family of friends’ for all it serves.”
