Illinois Governor proclaims, July 2021, as The Baby Fold’s History of Care on Rt. 66 Month
We are pleased to announce that the Governor of the State of Illinois, JB Pritzker, has designated July 2021 as “The Baby Fold’s History of Care on Rt. 66″ Month, for its long history of serving children and families throughout central Illinois along the pathway of historic Route 66 in Normal, IL. The Governor’s proclamation states the following:
WHEREAS, The Baby Fold is deeply rooted in the history of social service in central Illinois for its healing care and compassion for children and families since its beginning in 1902; and,
WHEREAS, The Baby Fold has evolved into a multi-program social service agency, dedicated to the health and wellness of children and families across 28 counties in central Illinois through programs including adoption support, foster care, special education, early childhood initiatives, autism programs, crisis intervention, and vocational education; and,
WHEREAS, The Baby Fold is a state leader in finding permanent homes for children in foster care; and,
WHEREAS, The Baby Fold continues to expand its programs to meet increasing needs in the community; and,
WHEREAS, The Baby Fold is a recognized leader in the field of child well-being and is called upon to share their expertise across the state and on a national stage; and,
WHEREAS, The Baby Fold’s administration and elementary school campuses in Normal, Illinois are cornered by two sections of the original pathway of U.S. Rt. 66;
THEREFORE, I, JB Pritzker, Governor of the State of Illinois, do hereby proclaim, July 2021, as The Baby Fold’s History of Care on Rt. 66 Month.
