Important Notice About UMA Annual Meeting
March 16, 2020
Colleagues, After careful consideration and in an abundance of care for our members and the people they serve, the United Methodist Association of Health and Welfare Ministries (UMA) has made the difficult decision to cancel our 2020 UMA Annual Meeting in Boulder, CO. The Executive Committee of the Board met today and unanimously decided to take this action, which was made in response to continued uncertainties about the coronavirus (COVID-19) and the National State of Emergency that has been declared, as well as the rapidly developing situation across the country. We understand that the Annual Meeting provides you with important information you need to support and grow your organizations. With that in mind, we are exploring alternative ways to share the information and expertise of our presenters and celebrate our EAGLE Accreditation and Award winners. More information will be available in the coming weeks. We also know that the Annual Meeting is much more than events and education. It is a gathering of our UMA family. We will be looking for ways to continue to unite and support our UMA community during this challenging time. Refunds Hotel and Travel Sponsors, Awardees, and Presenters We acknowledge that this is a difficult and uncertain time, and that our ministries are actively managing their own responses to this crisis within their own communities. Our priority is to support the wellbeing of our members and those they serve. With prayers for your continued safety, Mary Kemper |
